Musnad Ahmad 27:957

Abu Salamah narrated to us, Sulayman informed us, from Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn Umar, that he used to pray upon his riding beast while traveling, wherever it faced him. And he mentioned that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to do that while traveling.
