Musnad Ahmad 25:1208

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:1208

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Two roasted dabb lizards were brought to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and Khalid ibn al-Walid was with him. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reached out his hand to eat, but it was said to him: "It is a dabb lizard." So he withdrew his hand. Khalid said to him: "Is it forbidden, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "No, but it is not in the land of my people, so I find that I dislike it." So Khalid ate, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was looking at him.
