Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:1233
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Ayyub narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, who said: Ibn 'Abbas used not to recite [aloud] in the Dhuhr and the 'Asr. He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited in that which he was commanded to recite in, and he remained silent in that which he was commanded to remain silent in. 'There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern,' {And your Lord is never forgetful} [Maryam: 64]."
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثني أبي، حدثنا أيوب، عن عكرمة، قال: لم يكن ابن عباس، يقرأ في الظهر والعصر، قال: " قرأ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فيما أمر أن يقرأ فيه، وسكت فيما أمر أن يسكت فيه، قد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة، {وما كان ربك نسيا} [مريم: 64] " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
