Musnad Ahmad 25:1247

'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, al-Mughirah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, that he heard Ibn 'Abbas saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed *li'an* (imprecation) between the 'Ajlani man and his wife. He said: She was pregnant, and he said: "By Allah, I have not approached her since we *'afarna*." He said: And *'afr* is when the palm trees are watered after they have been left without watering, two months after pollination. He said: Her husband had thin shins and forearms, and reddish hair. The one she was accused with was Ibn al-Sahma'. He said: She gave birth to a black boy, with a receding hairline, curly hair, and thick forearms. Ibn Shaddad ibn al-Had said to Ibn 'Abbas: Is she the woman about whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If I were to stone anyone without evidence, I would have stoned her"? He said: No, that was a woman who had acted openly in Islam.
