Musnad Ahmad 25:1274

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, who said: I heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr say: I passed by with Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas on one of the roads of Medina, and there were some youths who had set up a hen and were shooting at it, and for every arrow that missed, it belonged to them. He said: So he became angry and said: "Who did this?" He said: So they dispersed. Then Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who mutilates an animal."
