Musnad Ahmad 25:1339

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Zayd, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Wa'lah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Whichever hide is tanned, it has become pure."
