Musnad Ahmad 25:1398

Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: Abu Hadir informed me, he said: Ibn Umar was asked about the *jar* (earthenware jar): "Is *nabidh* (fermented drink) made in it?" He said: "Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and His Messenger have forbidden it." The man went to Ibn Abbas and mentioned to him what Ibn Umar had said. Ibn Abbas said: "He spoke the truth." The man said to Ibn Abbas: "Which *jar* did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbid?" He said: "Everything that is made from clay."
