Musnad Ahmad 25:1418

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:1418

Abu Ahmad and Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr narrated to us, they said: Isra'il narrated to us, from Simak, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting in the shade of his chamber—Yahya said: "It had almost shrunk away from him"—and he said to his companions: "A man will come to you looking at you with the eye of a devil; so when you see him, do not speak to him." Then a blue-eyed man came. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw him, he called him and said: "For what reason do you and your companions insult me?" The man said: "Stay as you are until I bring them to you." He said: So he went and brought them, and they began swearing by Allah that they had not said it and had not done it. Then Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, revealed: "On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you" [Al-Mujadilah: 18] until the end of the verse.
