Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:1506
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Ibn Dharr, from his father, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to Jibril: "What prevents you from visiting us more than you visit us?" He said: Then it was revealed: "And we descend not except by the command of your Lord; to Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us and what is in between that, and your Lord is never forgetful" [Maryam: 64]. He said: And that was the answer to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن، عن ابن ذر ، عن أبيه، عن سعيد بن جبير، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لجبريل: " ما يمنعك أن تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا؟ " قال: فنزلت: {وما نتنزل إلا بأمر ربك له ما بين أيدينا وما خلفنا وما بين ذلك وما كان ربك نسيا} [مريم: 64] قال: وكان ذلك الجواب لمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم
