Musnad Ahmad 25:1510

Rawh narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: 'Amr ibn Dinar informed me that Awsajah, the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, informed him from Ibn 'Abbas: That a man died and did not leave anyone to inherit from him. So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gave his inheritance to a freed slave of his whom the deceased had emancipated. He is the one who has his *wala'* (right of inheritance due to manumission), and he is the one who emancipated him.
