Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 25:1563
Ya'la and Muhammad—the meaning being the same—said: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Dhabyan, from Ibn Abbas, who said: "Which of the two recitations do you consider the first?" They said: "The recitation of Abdullah." He said: "No, rather it is the last." "He [Abdullah] used to present the Quran to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, once every year. When it was the year in which he passed away, he presented it to him twice. Abdullah witnessed that, so he knew what was abrogated of it and what was changed."
