Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:1617
'Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Bakr narrated to us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: 'Ata' said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas invited al-Fadl ibn 'Abbas to food on the day of 'Arafah, so he said: "I am fasting." 'Abdullah said: "Do not fast, for the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had a vessel containing milk brought to him on the day of 'Arafah, and he drank from it. So do not fast, for the people follow your example." Ibn Bakr and Rawh said: "Indeed, the people follow your example."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق، وابن بكر، قالا: أخبرنا ابن جريج، قال: قال عطاء، دعا عبد الله بن عباس الفضل بن عباس يوم عرفة إلى طعام، فقال: إني صائم. فقال عبد الله: لا تصم، " فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قرب إليه حلاب فيه لبن يوم عرفة، فشرب منه، فلا تصم فإن الناس مستنون بكم قال ابن بكر، وروح: " إن الناس يستنون بكم "
