Musnad Ahmad 25:1655

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:1655

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, he said: Kamil informed us, from Habib, from Ibn Abbas, he said: I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Maymunah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) awoke during the night—and he mentioned the hadith—he said: Then he bowed. He said: I saw him say in his bowing: "Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent." Then he raised his head and praised Allah as much as He willed that he should praise Him. He said: Then he prostrated. He said: And he would say in his prostration: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." He said: Then he raised his head. He said: And he would say between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, restore me, elevate me, provide for me, and guide me."
