Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:1686
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Thabit informed us, and Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Thabit narrated, he said: Hilal narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would spend nights—'Abd al-Samad said: consecutive—hungry, and his family would not find dinner. And the majority of their bread was barley bread."
حدثنا عبد الصمد، أخبرنا ثابت، وحسن بن موسى، حدثنا ثابت، قال: حدثني هلال، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عباس: " أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يبيت الليالي - قال: عبد الصمد المتتابعة - طاويا، وأهله لا يجدون عشاء، وكان عامة خبزهم خبز الشعير "
