Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:259
Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Dharr ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hamdani, from ‘Abdullah ibn Shaddad, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have thoughts within myself; that I should fall from the sky is more beloved to me than that I should speak of them." He said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Praise be to Allah who turned his plot back to mere whispering."
حدثنا وكيع، عن سفيان، عن منصور، عن ذر بن عبد الله الهمداني، عن عبد الله بن شداد، عن ابن عباس، قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، إني أحدث نفسي بالشيء، لأن أخر من السماء أحب إلي من أن أتكلم به، قال: فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الله أكبر، الله أكبر، الله أكبر، الحمد لله الذي رد كيده إلى الوسوسة "
