Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Hadith 25:281

Yazid narrated to us, Husayn ibn Dhakwan informed us, from ‘Amr ibn Shu‘ayb, from Tawus, that Ibn ‘Umar and Ibn ‘Abbas attributed it to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "It is not lawful for a man to give a gift, then take it back, except for a father regarding what he gives his child. And the likeness of one who gives a gift, then takes it back, is like the likeness of a dog that ate until it was full, then vomited, then returned to its vomit."

حدثنا يزيد، أخبرنا حسين بن ذكوان، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن طاوس، أن ابن عمر، وابن عباس رفعاه إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، أنه قال: " لا يحل للرجل أن يعطي العطية، فيرجع فيها، إلا الوالد فيما يعطي ولده، ومثل الذي يعطي العطية، فيرجع فيها، كمثل الكلب أكل حتى إذا شبع قاء، ثم رجع في قيئه "،
