Musnad Ahmad 25:303

Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Rawh narrated to us, they said: Shu'bah narrated to us. Rawh said: I heard Muslim al-Qurari. Muhammad said: From Muslim al-Qurari, he said: I heard Ibn Abbas saying: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered into the state of Ihram for 'Umrah, and his companions entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj." Rawh said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj." So, whoever did not have a sacrificial animal with him exited the state of Ihram, and among those who did not have a sacrificial animal with them were Talhah and another man, so they exited the state of Ihram.
