Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 25:305
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Yahya Abu ‘Umar, who said: They mentioned *nabidh* (a drink made by soaking dates or raisins in water) in the presence of Ibn ‘Abbas. He said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would have *nabidh* prepared for him in a waterskin"—Shu‘bah said: "Like on the night of Monday"—and he would drink it on Monday, and Tuesday until the afternoon. If anything remained of it, he would give it to the servants to drink, or he would pour it out. Shu‘bah said: "And I do not think he said anything other than: 'And on Wednesday until the afternoon; if anything remained of it, he would give it to the servants to drink, or he would pour it out.'"
