Musnad Ahmad 25:355

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:355

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Zayd—narrated to us, from Kathir ibn Shanzir, from ‘Ata’, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: The beginning of the rapid pace (al-idha‘) was only from the people of the desert. They used to stand on the edges of the people until they would hang their sticks, quivers, and bowls. When they would depart, those things would rattle, so they would cause the people to rush. He said: And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was seen, and the back of his she-camel’s neck was touching its withers, while he was saying with his hand: "O people, upon you is tranquility. O people, upon you is tranquility."
