Hadith 25:357
Yunus and ‘Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ayyub—‘Affan said: Ayyub and Qays informed us—from ‘Ata’ ibn Abi Rabah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delayed the ‘Isha’ prayer one night until the people slept, then they woke up, then they slept, then they woke up." Qays said: "Then ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab came and said: 'The prayer, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'So he went out and led them in prayer, and he did not mention that they performed ablution.'"
حدثنا يونس، وعفان، قالا: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة، عن أيوب، قال عفان : أخبرنا أيوب، وقيس، عن عطاء بن أبي رباح، عن ابن عباس: " أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، أخر العشاء ذات ليلة، حتى نام القوم، ثم استيقظوا، ثم ناموا، ثم استيقظوا " - قال قيس: - فجاء عمر بن الخطاب، فقال: الصلاة يا رسول الله، قال: " فخرج فصلى بهم ولم يذكر أنهم توضئوا "
