Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:398
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad informed us, from 'Ammar bin Abi 'Ammar, from Ibn 'Abbas: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a trunk before the pulpit was made. When the pulpit was made and he moved to it, the trunk moaned for him. So he came to it and embraced it, and it became quiet. He said: "Had I not embraced it, it would have moaned until the Day of Resurrection."
حدثنا عفان، أخبرنا حماد، عن عمار بن أبي عمار، عن ابن عباس: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان يخطب إلى جذع قبل أن يتخذ المنبر، فلما اتخذ المنبر وتحول إليه، حن عليه، فأتاه فاحتضنه فسكن، قال: " لو لم أحتضنه، لحن إلى يوم القيامة "
