Hadith 25:424
Marwan ibn Mu'awiyah al-Fazari narrated to us, Humayd ibn Ali al-'Uqayli narrated to us, al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Ibn Abbas, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed two rak'ahs when he traveled, and four when he resided." Ibn Abbas said: "So whoever prays four in travel is like one who prays two in residence." Ibn Abbas said: "The prayer was not shortened except once, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed two rak'ahs, and the people prayed one rak'ah and one rak'ah."
حدثنا مروان بن معاوية الفزاري، حدثنا حميد بن علي العقيلي، حدثنا الضحاك بن مزاحم، عن ابن عباس، قال: " صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، حين سافر ركعتين، وحين أقام أربعا "، قال: قال ابن عباس: " فمن صلى في السفر أربعا كمن صلى في الحضر ركعتين "، قال: وقال ابن عباس: " لم تقصر الصلاة إلا مرة واحدة، حيث صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ركعتين وصلى الناس ركعة ركعة "
