Musnad Ahmad 25:441

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:441

'Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Khalid narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has made Makkah sacred. It was not made lawful for anyone before me, and it will not be made lawful for anyone after me. It was only made lawful for me for an hour of a day. Its green grass must not be cut, its trees must not be felled, its game must not be startled, and its lost property must not be picked up except by one who announces it." Al-'Abbas said: "Except for *idhkhir* (lemon grass), for our goldsmiths and our graves." He (the Prophet) said: "Except for *idhkhir*."
