Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 25:511
Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Salih, who said: And Ibn Shihab narrated that Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah informed him that Ibn Abbas informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, passed by a dead sheep and said: "Why did you not make use of its hide?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is dead (carrion)." He said: "Only its consumption has been forbidden."
حدثنا يعقوب، حدثنا أبي، عن صالح، قال: وحدث ابن شهاب، أن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، أخبره أن ابن عباس أخبره، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، مر بشاة ميتة، فقال: " هلا استمتعتم بإهابها؟ " فقالوا: يا رسول الله، إنها ميتة، فقال: " إنما حرم أكلها "
