Musnad Ahmad 25:519

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn 'Ata' ibn 'Ayyash ibn 'Alqamah, of the Banu 'Amir ibn Lu'ayy, narrated to us, who said: I entered upon Ibn 'Abbas in the house of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the morning of Friday. He said: And Maymunah had bequeathed it to him. So when he prayed the Friday prayer, it would be spread out for him in it, then he would depart to it and sit in it for the people. He said: A man asked him, and I was listening, about ablution from food touched by fire. He said: Ibn 'Abbas raised his hand to his eyes—and his sight had failed—and said: May these two eyes of mine go blind if I did not see the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, perform ablution for the noon prayer in one of his chambers. Then he called Bilal to prayer, and he rose to go out. When he stood at the door of the chamber, a gift of bread and meat met him, which some of his companions had sent to him. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, returned with those who were with him, and it was placed for them in the chamber. He said: So he ate, and they ate with him. He said: Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, rose with those who were with him for the prayer, and neither he nor anyone who was with him touched water. He said: Then he led them in prayer. And Ibn 'Abbas only understood of the affair of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the latter part of it.
