Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 25:554
Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, he said: Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, came to one of his daughters while she was in the market. He took her and placed her in his lap until she passed away, and his eyes shed tears. Umm Ayman wept, and it was said to her: "Do you weep in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" She said: "Should I not weep while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is weeping?" He said: "I did not weep; rather, this is mercy. Indeed, the soul of the believer departs from between his sides while he is praising Allah, the Almighty and Majestic."
