Musnad Ahmad 25:617
Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 25:617
Abu Ahmad narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, took a daughter of his who was dying and embraced her, then he placed her between his breasts, and she died while she was between his breasts. Umm Ayman cried out, so it was said to her: "Do you weep in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" She said: "Do I not see you weeping, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "I am not weeping; it is only mercy. Indeed, the believer is in every good state in every condition. His soul departs from between his sides while he is praising Allah, the Almighty and Majestic."
