Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 25:651
'Abd al-Jabbar ibn Muhammad—meaning al-Khattabi—narrated to me, 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: That a man went out, and two men followed him, and a man was behind them saying, "Go back." He said: So they went back. He said: Then he said to him, "Verily, these two are devils, and I did not cease [dealing] with them until I turned them back. So when you come to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, convey my greeting to him, and inform him that we are gathering our alms, and if it were appropriate for him, we would have sent them to him." He said: "So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade seclusion at that."
