Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

مسند عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب (1) ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Hadith 25:68

Sufyan narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Abdullah ibn Uthman ibn Khuthaym, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah—if Allah wills—that Ibn Abbas sought permission to enter upon Aisha. Her nephews did not cease [urging] her [to allow him]. She said: "I fear that he will praise me." When she gave him permission, he said: "There is nothing between you and meeting the beloved ones except for the soul to depart from the body. You were the most beloved of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to him, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not love anything except that which is pure. Your necklace fell on the night of al-Abwa’, so verses of the Quran were revealed concerning you. There is no mosque among the mosques of the Muslims except that your exoneration is recited therein during the hours of the night and the hours of the day." She said: "Leave me be from your praise, O Ibn Abbas. By Allah, I wish that I were..."

حدثنا سفيان، عن معمر، عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم، عن ابن أبي مليكة، إن شاء الله يعني - استأذن ابن عباس على عائشة، فلم يزل بها بنو أخيها، قالت: أخاف أن يزكيني، فلما أذنت له، قال: " ما بينك وبين أن تلقي الأحبة إلا أن يفارق الروح الجسد كنت أحب أزواج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إليه، ولم يكن يحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا طيبا، وسقطت قلادتك ليلة الأبواء، فنزلت فيك آيات من القرآن، فليس مسجد من مساجد المسلمين إلا يتلى فيه عذرك آناء الليل، وآناء النهار " فقالت: دعني من تزكيتك يا ابن عباس، فوالله لوددت
