Musnad Ahmad 25:7

Hashim narrated to us, Khalid informed us, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, who said: When Barirah was given the choice, I saw her husband following her in the streets of Medina, and his tears were flowing onto his beard. He spoke to Al-Abbas so that he would speak to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding her. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to Barirah: "He is your husband." She said: "Are you commanding me [to return] to him, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "I am only an intercessor." He said: So he gave her the choice, and she chose herself. He was a slave of the family of Al-Mughirah, and he was called Mughith.
