Musnad Ahmad 25:708

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Kurayb, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: I spent the night in the house of my maternal aunt, Maymunah. I watched how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed. He stood up and urinated, then washed his face and his hands, then slept. Then he stood up and went to the water skin and untied its strap, then poured into the basin or the bowl, and tilted his hand over it, then performed a good ablution, between the two ablutions. Then he stood to pray. I came and stood on his left, so he took me and placed me on his right. The prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was completed as thirteen rak‘ahs. He said: Then he slept until he breathed heavily, and we used to know when he slept by his heavy breathing. Then he went out to the prayer and prayed, and he began to say in his prayer or in his prostration: "O Allah, place light in my heart, and in my hearing light, and in my sight light, and on my right light, and on my left light, and in front of me light, and behind me light, and above me light, and below me light, and make me light." Shu‘bah said: Or he said: "Make for me light." He said: And ‘Amr ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Kurayb, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that he slept lying down.
