Musnad Ahmad 25:741

Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 25:741

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Abu Bishr narrating that he heard Sa‘id ibn Jubayr narrating that he heard Ibn ‘Abbas narrating that a man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was in the state of ihram, and he fell from his she-camel, and it broke his neck (or killed him instantly). The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded that he be washed with water and lotus leaves (sidr) and that he be shrouded in two garments. He said: "Do not touch him with perfume, nor cover his head." Shu‘bah said: Then he narrated it to me after that, and he said: "Nor his head, or his face, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection in a state of talbid (with matted hair)."
