Musnad Ahmad 25:912

Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Yazid ibn ‘Ata’ narrated to us, from Habib—meaning Ibn Abi ‘Amrah—from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade the *duba* (gourd), the *hantam* (green-glazed jar), the *naqir* (hollowed-out log), and the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessel), and that one should mix *balah* (unripe dates) with *zahw* (partially ripened dates)." He said: I said, "O Ibn ‘Abbas, what do you see regarding a man who puts his *nabidh* (date-water) in a green jar that is like a glass bottle in the morning, and drinks it at night?" He said: "Will you not desist from what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade you?"
