Musnad Ahmad 25:942

'Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: When Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, revealed: "And warn your closest kindred" [Ash-Shu'ara: 214], the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, came to as-Safa and ascended it. Then he called out: "Ya sabahah!" (a cry of alarm). The people gathered to him, some coming to him themselves, and others sending their messenger. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "O Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib, O Banu Fihr, O Banu... O Banu... If I were to tell you that there were horses at the foot of this mountain intending to raid you, would you believe me?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Then I am a warner to you before a severe punishment." Abu Lahab said: "May you perish for the rest of the day! Did you only call us for this?" Then Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, revealed: "May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he" [Al-Masad: 1].
