Al-Ashja‘i narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from al-Hasan al-‘Arani, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: I came with a boy from the Banu ‘Abd al-Muttalib on a donkey, and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was in prayer. He said: So we let it loose in front of us to graze, and he did not interrupt [the prayer]. He said: And two young girls from the Banu ‘Abd al-Muttalib came racing, and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stepped between them, and he did not interrupt [the prayer]. And a kid [young goat] fell, and he did not interrupt [the prayer].
