Rawh narrated to us, Habib ibn Shihab al-Anbari narrated to us, he said: I heard my father saying: I came to Ibn Abbas, along with a companion of mine, and we met Abu Hurayrah at the door of Ibn Abbas. He said: "Who are you two?" We informed him, and he said: "Go to people who are [occupied] with dates and water; every valley flows only according to its capacity." We said: "May your goodness increase, ask permission for us to see Ibn Abbas." He said: So he asked permission for us, and we heard Ibn Abbas narrating from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, delivered a sermon on the day of Tabuk and said: "There is no one among the people like a man who takes hold of the reins of his horse, striving in the way of Allah, and avoiding the evils of the people; and [there is no one like] a man who lives in the desert with his sheep, hosting his guest and fulfilling his duty." He said: I said: "Did he say it?" He said: "He said it." He said: I said: "Did he say it?" He said: "He said it." He said: I said: "Did he say it?" He said: "He said it." So I magnified Allah, praised Allah, and thanked [Him].
