'Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us, 'Abdullah—meaning Ibn al-Mubarak—narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shurayh al-Mu'afiri narrated to us, Shurahil ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Hadiyyah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The majority of the hypocrites of my nation are its reciters [of the Quran]."
