Hadith 28:22

Jarir narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from his father, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Two qualities, whoever preserves them will enter Paradise, and they are easy, but those who act upon them are few." They said: "And what are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "That you praise Allah (say *Alhamdulillah*), magnify Him (say *Allahu Akbar*), and glorify Him (*SubhanAllah*) after every prescribed prayer, ten times each. And when you go to your bed, you glorify Allah, magnify Him, and praise Him one hundred times. That is two hundred and fifty on the tongue, and two thousand and five hundred on the scale. So which of you commits two thousand and five hundred bad deeds in the day and the night?" They said: "How is it that those who act upon them are few?" He said: "The Shaytan comes to one of you in his prayer and reminds him of such-and-such need, so he does not say them. And he comes to him at his sleeping place and puts him to sleep, so he does not say them." He said: And I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) counting them with his hand.
