Musnad Ahmad 28:223

Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Rashid informed us, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Amr ibn Shu’ayb, from his father, from his grandfather: "The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, decreed: 'Any person whose lineage is sought to be established after the father to whom he is attributed, and his heirs claim him: He decreed that if he was from a free woman whom he married, or from a slave woman whom he owned, then he is joined to the one who claimed him. But if he was from a free woman or a slave woman with whom he committed adultery, he is not joined to the one who claimed him, even if the father to whom he is attributed claimed him. He is the son of fornication, for the family of his mother, whoever they may be, whether free or slave.'"
