Musnad Ahmad 28:229

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, from Sa'id, from 'Amir al-Ahwal, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "One does not take back his gift, except for a father regarding his child. And the one who takes back his gift is like the one who returns to his vomit."
