Musnad Ahmad 28:292

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, [Abdullah ibn Ahmad said]: My father and Ibn Numayr said: Al-A'mash informed us, from Abdullah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, from Abdullah ibn Amr, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he said: "There are four [traits] which, whoever possesses them, is a hypocrite, or whoever possesses one of the four, has a trait of hypocrisy until he abandons it: when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he breaks it; when he makes a covenant, he acts treacherously; and when he disputes, he behaves wickedly."
