Musnad Ahmad 28:376

Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Hisham ibn al-Ghazi narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: We descended with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, from the mountain pass of Adhakhir. He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, looked at me, and I was wearing a *raytah* (a garment) dyed with safflower. He said: "What is this?" I realized that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, disliked it. So I went to my family while they were heating their oven, and I wrapped it up and threw it into it. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "What did you do with the *raytah*?" I said: I realized what you disliked about it, so I went to my family while they were heating their oven and threw it into it. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Why did you not clothe some of your family with it?" And he mentioned that when he descended with them from the mountain pass of Adhakhir, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed with them facing a wall he had taken as a *qiblah*. A lamb came passing in front of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he kept pushing it away and drawing closer to the wall, until I saw the belly of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, pressed against the wall, and it passed behind him.
