Musnad Ahmad 28:395

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, who said: When the pledge of allegiance to Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah reached us, I went to al-Sham, and I was informed of a station where Nawf was standing. I came to him, and then a man arrived, and the people rushed toward him. He was wearing a khamisah (a square garment), and it was 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As. When Nawf saw him, he stopped speaking. 'Abdullah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "There will be migration after migration. People will move to the place of migration of Ibrahim. There will remain on the earth only the most evil of its people, whom their lands will cast out, and the soul of Allah will despise them. The Fire will gather them with the monkeys and the swine; it will spend the night with them when they spend the night, and it will take a midday nap with them when they take a midday nap, and it will eat those who remain behind." He said: And I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "People will emerge from my nation from the direction of the East, reciting the Qur'an, but it will not pass beyond their collarbones. Every time a generation of them emerges, it will be cut off; every time a generation of them emerges, it will be cut off"—he counted it more than ten times—"every time a generation of them emerges, it will be cut off, until the Dajjal emerges among their remnants."
