Musnad Ahmad 28:408

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Firas, from al-Sha‘bi, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "The major sins are: associating partners with Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, disobedience to parents, or killing a soul—Shu‘bah is the one who doubted—and the false oath (al-yamin al-ghamus)." *** ‘Abdullah [ibn Ahmad] narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami narrated to us, Abu Ma‘shar al-Bara’ narrated to us, Sadaqah ibn Taysalah narrated to me, Ma‘n ibn Tha‘labah al-Mazini—who is still alive—narrated to me, he said: Al-A‘sha al-Mazini narrated to me, he said: I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I recited to him: O King of the people and Judge of the Arabs, I have encountered a sharp-tongued woman among the sharp-tongued. I went out in Rajab seeking food for her, But she left me behind with contention and flight. She broke the covenant and clung to the tail (of the matter), And they are the worst of those who overcome, for whoever they overcome. He said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, began to say at that: "And they are the worst of those who overcome, for whoever they overcome."
