Hadith 28:466
Yazid narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Artah informed us, from Ibrahim ibn Amir, from Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib, and from al-Zuhri, from Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a man came plucking his hair and calling out, "Woe to me!" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him, "What is the matter with you?" He said, "I had intercourse with my wife during Ramadan." He said, "Free a slave." He said, "I do not find one." He said, "Fast two consecutive months." He said, "I cannot." He said, "Feed sixty poor people." He said, "I do not find [the means]." Then, a basket containing fifteen sa’s of dates was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said, "Take this and feed it to sixty poor people on your behalf." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, there is no household between the two lava fields [of Medina] poorer than us." He said, "Eat it, you and your family."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
