Hadith 28:571
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Mutarrif narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from ‘Amr ibn Shu‘ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that he said: "A time will come upon the people in which they will be sifted like a sifting. There will remain of them dregs; their covenants and their trusts will have become mixed up, and they will have differed, and they will be like this"—and he interlaced his fingers. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the way out from that?" He said: "You take what you recognize, and you leave what you deny, and you attend to the affair of your own selves, and you leave the affair of the common people."
