'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi al-Waddah narrated to us, al-'Ala' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Rafi' narrated to me, Hannan ibn Kharijah narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, who said: A bold Bedouin from the 'Ali tribe came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, inform us about the migration (Hijrah): is it to you wherever you are, or for a specific people, or to a known land, or does it cease when you die?" He said: He remained silent for a short while, then said: "Where is the questioner?" He said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The migration is that you abandon immoralities, what is apparent of them and what is hidden, and that you establish prayer and give zakat; then you are a migrant, even if you die in the city." Then 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr said, beginning from himself: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, inform us about the garments of the people of Paradise; are they created by creation, or woven by weaving?" Some of the people laughed, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "What are you laughing at? At an ignorant person asking a knowledgeable one?" Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, bowed his head, then said: "Where is the questioner?" He said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "No, rather, the fruits of Paradise split open to reveal them," [repeating it] three times.
