'Arim narrated to us, Mu'tamir narrated to us, he said: My father said: Al-Hadrami narrated to us, from Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr: That a man from the Muslims sought permission from the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding a woman called Umm Mahzul, who used to commit fornication and stipulated that she would spend on him. He sought permission from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, regarding her, or mentioned her affair to him. So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recited: "The fornicator does not marry except a fornicator or a polytheist" [An-Nur: 3]. He said: "{The fornicator does not marry except a fornicator or a polytheist} [An-Nur: 3] was revealed." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman [who is 'Abdullah ibn Ahmad] said: My father said: 'Arim said: I asked Mu'tamir about Al-Hadrami, and he said: "He was a storyteller, and I have seen him." ['Abdullah ibn Ahmad said]: Yahya ibn Ma'in narrated to us, Mu'tamir narrated to us, from his father, from Al-Hadrami, from Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, the like of it.
