Musnad Ahmad 28:79

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from an-Nu‘man ibn Salim, [who said]: I heard Ya‘qub ibn ‘Asim ibn ‘Urwah ibn Mas‘ud [saying]: I heard a man say to ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr: "You say that the Hour will occur at such and such time?" He said: "I had intended not to narrate anything to you. I only said: 'You will see after a little while a great matter,'—referring to the burning of the House [the Ka‘bah]." Shu‘bah said: "This or something similar." Then ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will emerge in my Ummah, and he will remain among them for forty"—I do not know if it is forty days, or forty years, or forty nights, or forty months—"Then Allah the Almighty will send ‘Isa ibn Maryam (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as if he were ‘Urwah ibn Mas‘ud ath-Thaqafi. He will appear and seek him, and he will destroy him. Then the people will remain for seven years, with no enmity between any two people. Then Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Ash-Sham, and there will not remain anyone in whose heart is the weight of an atom of faith except that it will take his soul, even if one of them were in the heart of a mountain, it would enter upon him." He said: I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "And the most evil of people will remain, with the lightness of birds and the minds of beasts. They will not recognize good, nor will they denounce evil." He said: "Then the Shaytan will appear to them and say: 'Will you not respond?' He will command them to worship idols, and they will worship them, while they are in that state of abundant provision and good living. Then the Trumpet will be blown, and no one will hear it except that he will incline his head toward it. The first to hear it will be a man repairing his watering trough, and he will be struck down. Then no one will remain except that he will be struck down. Then Allah will send, or Allah will cause to descend, rain like dew or shade—an-Nu‘man was the one who was uncertain—and from it the bodies of the people will grow. Then it will be blown into a second time, and suddenly they will be standing, looking on." He said: "Then it will be said: 'O people, come to your Lord. And stop them, for they are to be questioned.' Then it will be said: 'Bring forth the contingent for the Fire.' It will be said: 'How many?' It will be said: 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine.' On that day, children will be made gray-haired, and on that day, the Shin will be uncovered." Muhammad ibn Ja‘far said: "Shu‘bah narrated this hadith to me several times, and I presented it to him."
