Musnad Ahmad 28:94

Abu Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to me, Ma'ruf ibn Suwayd al-Judhami narrated to me, from Abu 'Ushaynah al-Ma'afiri, from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Do you know who the first of Allah's creation to enter Paradise is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The first of Allah's creation to enter Paradise are the poor Emigrants (Muhajirun), by whom the frontiers are guarded, and by whom the adversities are warded off. One of them dies while his need is in his chest, unable to fulfill it. Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says to whom He wills of His angels: 'Go to them and greet them.' The angels say: 'We are the inhabitants of Your heaven and the best of Your creation, yet You command us to go to these people and greet them?' He says: 'They were servants who worshipped Me, not associating anything with Me, and by them the frontiers were guarded, and by them the adversities were warded off. One of them would die while his need was in his chest, unable to fulfill it.' He said: 'So the angels come to them at that, and they enter upon them from every gate: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."'" [Ar-Ra'd: 24]
